- Label and secure cables for future reference
3. Video & Recording Checks
- Review live feed from each camera on monitoring software
- Confirm DVR/NVR is recording on schedule
- Check for errors, dropouts, or timestamp inconsistencies
- Export sample footage to confirm playback and clarity
4. Software & System Maintenance
- Check for firmware/software updates on CCTV hardware
- Ensure antivirus and firewalls are enabled on storage servers
- Verify user permissions and change default credentials
- Audit activity logs for signs of unauthorized access
5. Documentation & Sign-Off
- Log date, time, and camera ID for all maintenance actions
- Attach pre- and post-maintenance photos if required
- Document any issues and resolution steps
- Obtain technician and supervisor sign-off
