General System Overview
- Visual inspection of chiller unit and surrounding areas for leaks, damage, or abnormal conditions
- Check for visible corrosion, cracks, or loose components
- Ensure proper labeling and warning signs are visible for hazard identification
- Record total operating hours and compressor starts for maintenance tracking
- Verify all alarms (temperature, pressure, water flow) are functional and audible
Compressor & Refrigerant System
- Inspect compressors for proper operation - no unusual vibrations or noises
- Check refrigerant levels and inspect for leaks using proper detection methods
- Verify oil levels are clean and at correct level per sight glass
- Confirm oil return system is functioning correctly
- Ensure oil heater is functioning to prevent refrigerant migration
- Clean and inspect oil filters for contamination
Electrical Components
- Confirm chiller receiving correct voltage and current per specifications
- Inspect for proper grounding and secure electrical connections
- Check all connections for tightness, corrosion, and signs of wear
- Verify motor amperage operates within specified limits
- Ensure motor wiring and connections are in good condition
- Control panel functioning correctly with accurate readings displayed
Water Systems
- Ensure proper chilled water flow and pump operation within parameters
- Verify adequate condenser water flow without obstructions or debris
- Monitor chilled and condenser water temperatures within specified ranges
- Ensure pressure gauges are accurate and within acceptable limits
- Inspect pressure relief valves to prevent overpressure risks

- Inspect condenser and evaporator coils for cleanliness and fouling
