Use this checklist to inspect Daikin WLPB vapor absorption chillers daily to ensure reliable and energy-efficient operation.

General System Overview

  • Visual inspection of entire absorption chiller system for leaks, corrosion, or physical damage
  • Record total operating hours and absorption cycles for maintenance scheduling
  • Verify all alarms (solution level, temperature, vacuum) are functional and audible
  • Check insulation integrity on all vessels and piping
  • Inspect solution sight glasses for clarity and proper levels

Control System & Display

  • Daikin control panel display functional and showing clear readings
  • No active alarms or crystallization warnings present
  • Solution concentration readings within normal range (57-64%)
  • Operating temperatures and pressures within specifications
  • Capacity control responding properly to load changes
  • Historical trending data logging correctly

Absorber & Generator System

  • Absorber spray nozzles functioning - no clogs or misdirection
  • Generator solution level within operating range
  • Solution pump operation smooth with correct pressure
  • No unusual sounds from solution pumps or flow restrictions
  • Heat exchanger approach temperatures within limits
  • Solution flow rates match design specifications

Vacuum & Purge System

  • System vacuum level below 10mm Hg absolute
  • Purge unit operating cycles normal (not excessive)
  • No air leaks detected at flanges, valves, or sight glasses
  • Vacuum pump oil level and condition acceptable
  • Purge tank temperature within normal range
  • Hermetic pump seals showing no signs of leakage

Heat Source System

  • Steam/hot water supply pressure and temperature stable
  • Control valve modulating properly with load changes
  • Steam traps functioning correctly - no water hammer
  • Condensate return system operating properly
  • No steam or hot water leaks in generator section
  • Heat input rate matches cooling load requirements

Water Systems

  • Chilled water flow rate and temperature differential correct
  • Cooling water flow adequate with proper temperature rise
  • Water treatment chemical levels within specifications
  • No fouling evident in absorber or condenser tubes
  • Refrigerant water level in evaporator normal
  • Spray nozzles in evaporator functioning properly

Safety & Protection Systems

  • Crystallization protection system armed and ready
  • Emergency dilution cycle tested and functional
  • High temperature cutouts and alarms operational
  • Low solution level alarms functioning properly
  • Rupture disk integrity verified (no leakage)
  • Emergency shutdown sequence tested successfully

Performance Monitoring

  • Coefficient of Performance (COP) within expected range
  • Heat input consumption tracked and recorded
  • Cooling capacity meeting building load requirements
  • Solution concentration stability maintained
