Daikin WRC – Monthly Chiller Maintenance Procedure

Use this checklist for monthly maintenance of Daikin WRC vapor absorption chillers to ensure long-term reliability and optimal performance.

Comprehensive System Inspection

  • Complete walk-around inspection documenting all visible issues, leaks, or deterioration
  • Inspect insulation integrity on all vessels, piping, and valves for damage or moisture
  • Check structural supports, vibration isolators, and anchor bolts for security
  • Verify proper equipment labeling, safety signage, and emergency procedure posting
  • Review maintenance log entries from past month for recurring issues
  • Document equipment runtime hours and compare with maintenance intervals

Solution Analysis & Chemistry

  • Collect solution samples for laboratory analysis following proper procedures
  • Test lithium bromide concentration using calibrated refractometer or hydrometer
  • Measure solution pH and alkalinity levels, adjusting if outside specifications
  • Check for iron, copper, and other metallic contaminants indicating corrosion
  • Verify octyl alcohol level for proper heat transfer enhancement
  • Compare all chemistry results with baseline and trend for degradation

Heat Exchanger Performance

  • Calculate and record approach temperatures for all heat exchangers
