Clark C25D Diesel Forklift - Daily Inspection Procedure
Follow this daily inspection procedure to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and OSHA compliance.
Pre-Operational Safety Assessment
- Verify visibility and accuracy of load capacity plate
- Inspect operator compartment, seat, and controls for damage
- Ensure parking brake is engaged before inspection
- Check surrounding work area for hazards and obstacles
- Ensure no unauthorized modifications are present
Diesel Engine System Check
- Check engine oil, coolant, and fuel levels
- Inspect for fluid leaks under the forklift
- Start engine and monitor for abnormal sounds or emissions
- Inspect air filter and verify proper air flow
- Check exhaust system for leaks or damage
Hydraulic System Test
- Check hydraulic fluid level and inspect for leaks
- Test lifting, tilting, and side-shift functions (if equipped)
- Inspect hydraulic hoses, fittings, and connections
- Check mast chains for proper tension and lubrication
Fork & Mast Inspection
- Inspect forks for damage, bending, and secure mounting
- Measure heel wear and confirm it is within limits
- Check mast assembly, lift cylinders, and bushings
- Lubricate mast components as needed
Safety Systems Verification
- Test seat belt, horn, alarms, and lighting
- Verify fire extinguisher is present and charged
- Check brakes, steering, and emergency stop switch
- Inspect overhead guard and operator presence systems
Compliance & Documentation
- Complete daily checklist and sign-off form
- Log operating hours and maintenance needs
- Report any defects to supervision immediately
- Maintain records per OSHA 1910.178 regulations
