Clark C25D Diesel Forklift - Monthly Maintenance Procedure
Follow this detailed monthly procedure to maintain forklift safety, performance, and OSHA compliance.
Pre-Maintenance Preparation
- Plan maintenance during downtime; coordinate with operations
- Gather all necessary tools, fluids, and replacement parts
- Review service records and identify any recurring issues
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures are applied
- Confirm adequate lighting and clean working area
Engine & Powertrain Maintenance
- Change engine oil and oil filter per schedule
- Replace air filter if required
- Inspect and replace fuel filter and check water separator
- Check and adjust belt tension; inspect for wear
- Test and inspect cooling system (hoses, radiator, coolant level)
Hydraulic System Service
- Replace hydraulic filter if scheduled
- Check hydraulic fluid level and clarity
- Inspect hydraulic hoses, connections, and cylinders for leaks and damage
- Test hydraulic functions (lift, tilt, side-shift) for smooth operation
- Lubricate mast chains and verify tension
Safety System Checks
- Test brakes and parking brake for stopping ability
- Inspect brake pads and measure remaining thickness
- Test horn, alarms, seat belt, and emergency stop switch
- Check fire extinguisher status
- Inspect operator protection devices and load plates
Structural & Mechanical Inspection
- Inspect forks for wear, cracks, and proper mounting
- Check mast components for damage or excessive wear
- Inspect wheel bearings, tires, and alignment
- Verify all bolts and fasteners are tight
- Clean forklift thoroughly and lubricate key points
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete monthly maintenance checklist and sign off
- Document all services performed and parts replaced
- Record any issues requiring follow-up or repairs
- Update equipment maintenance history log
- Schedule next monthly maintenance session
