Pre-Inspection Preparation
- Park forklift on a flat, safe surface and apply parking brake
- Ensure engine is off and fully cooled before starting checks
- Gather all required tools, PPE, and inspection forms
- Review previous inspection records for follow-up items
Engine & Fluid Systems
- Check engine oil level and inspect for leaks
- Inspect hydraulic fluid level and hoses for wear or leaks
- Verify coolant level and examine hoses and clamps
- Check fuel system for leaks or loose connections
- Inspect air filters for clogging and replace if needed
Hydraulic, Mast & Forks Systems
- Inspect forks for damage, cracks, and proper locking
- Check mast rollers, lift chains, and adjust/lubricate as required
- Verify tilt and side-shift function for smooth operation
- Inspect hydraulic cylinders for leaks and test under load
Safety & Brake Systems
- Test parking brake and service brakes for full effectiveness
- Check seat belts, operator restraints, and overhead guard condition
- Verify operation of all lights, horn, backup alarm, and warning devices
- Inspect fire extinguisher and other emergency equipment
Operational Checks & General Condition
- Start engine and observe for abnormal noise or vibrations
- Operate forklift through basic movements and check for smoothness
- Inspect tires, wheels, and fasteners for wear or damage
- Check battery charge level, cables, and terminals
