Follow this weekly procedure to ensure safe operation, regulatory compliance, and optimal performance.
Engine Performance Analysis
- Monitor engine temperature, oil pressure, and fuel consumption
- Check for abnormal exhaust emissions
- Inspect and replace air filters as needed
- Test cooling system components for leaks and performance
- Record fuel system condition and consumption rates
Hydraulic System Inspection
- Test hydraulic pressure and flow under load
- Inspect hydraulic fluid clarity and condition
- Check hoses, seals, and fittings for leaks or wear
- Test all hydraulic functions (lift, tilt, side-shift)
Transmission & Drive System Checks
- Inspect transmission fluid level and condition
- Test shifting performance under load
- Check drive axles, differentials, and steering
- Monitor for abnormal noises or vibrations
Safety System Verification
- Test brakes under loaded/unloaded conditions
- Verify emergency stop and backup alarms
- Check fire extinguisher and safety decals
- Verify seat belt operation and load capacity plate visibility
Electrical System & Battery Maintenance
- Test battery voltage and specific gravity
- Inspect battery terminals and wiring connections
- Test alternator and charging system output
- Check lighting, indicators, and dashboard functions
Weekly Documentation & Compliance
- Complete weekly inspection report and sign-off
- Update maintenance schedules and logs
- Report deficiencies requiring repairs or parts replacement
- Ensure OSHA and ISO compliance documentation is updated
