Pre-Shift Safety Assessment
- Inspect forklift and work area for hazards or damage

- Inspect overhead clearance and work environment
Battery & Electrical System Check
- Check battery charge status and electrolyte levels
- Inspect battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections
- Ensure electrical wiring is undamaged and properly secured
- Verify all battery vents and caps are secure and functional
Hydraulic & Mast System Verification
- Inspect hydraulic fluid levels and check for leaks
- Test mast operation including lift, tilt, and side-shift
- Check mast chains for tension, lubrication, and wear
- Inspect forks for cracks, wear, and secure mounting
Safety Systems & Controls Check
- Test horn, lights, and backup alarm functionality
- Verify brake operation and emergency stop system
- Check seatbelt, operator restraint, and safety guards
- Inspect overhead guard and load backrest integrity
Operational Performance Test
- Start forklift and check for abnormal noises or vibrations
- Test steering, travel direction, and speed controls
- Verify proper function of all gauges and displays
- Confirm smooth operation of all control levers
Documentation & Compliance Review
- Complete daily inspection checklist thoroughly
- Document any defects and notify supervisor immediately
- Ensure load charts and safety labels are visible and legible
- Submit signed inspection record for documentation
