Pre-Inspection Safety Check
- Ensure forklift is parked on a level surface with brakes applied
- Disconnect from charger and allow battery to cool
- Wear appropriate PPE for all inspections
- Verify that all tools and equipment are ready for use
Battery System Assessment
- Verify battery charge and perform a load test
- Clean and inspect battery terminals and cables
- Check electrolyte levels and top up as needed
- Inspect battery ventilation and ensure no gas buildup
Mechanical Inspection
- Inspect tyres for pressure, wear, and damage
- Check forks for cracks, wear, and correct positioning
- Lubricate mast chains and check mast movement
- Inspect hydraulic fluid levels and check for leaks
Safety Systems Testing
- Test brakes, emergency stop, and warning alarms
- Inspect lights, seatbelt, and safety decals for proper condition
- Verify all interlock and safety features are operational
Operational Testing
- Start the forklift and monitor for unusual noises or vibrations
- Test forward/reverse travel, steering, and all lifting functions
- Record motor temperature and performance metrics
Documentation & Reporting
- Log all inspection findings in the maintenance record
- Photograph issues if necessary for further evaluation
- Schedule corrective actions and update maintenance calendar
