Pre-Operation System Check
- Conduct a 360° visual walk-around of forklift
- Verify operator certification and PPE use
- Review last inspection record or logbook
- Check surrounding area for obstructions or spills
- Prepare checklist and inspection documentation
Battery & Electric System Check
- Check battery charge status using onboard display
- Inspect terminals for corrosion or looseness
- Examine battery casing for leaks or bulges
- Test charging connector and verify charger output
- Verify electrical disconnect and safety cutoff
Hydraulic & Mechanical Inspection
- Check hydraulic fluid level and hoses for leaks
- Inspect mast, forks, and chain lubrication
- Test smooth operation of lift, tilt, and side shift
- Ensure tyres are inflated and free of damage
- Check steering and braking responsiveness
Safety & Operator Controls
- Test horn, reverse alarm, and warning lights
- Inspect seatbelt and overhead guard integrity
- Check load capacity plate for visibility
- Ensure all safety decals are in place
- Confirm emergency stop switch functionality
Performance Test (Operational)
- Start forklift and check motor sound
- Drive forward and reverse in short test
- Lift and lower forks with/without load
- Test turning radius and parking brake
- Review dashboard for warning indicators
Documentation & Follow-up
- Mark checklist items as pass/fail/NA
- Record any defects in the notes section
- Notify supervisor if urgent repairs needed
- Sign off and file daily inspection report
- Schedule follow-up for unresolved issues
