EP Equipment EP12-16A – Yearly Inspection Procedure
This procedure outlines critical annual inspection steps for long-term performance, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle planning.
1. Annual Electric System Certification
- Test motor controllers and wiring for integrity and function
- Perform battery load test and record lifecycle stats
- Verify all high-voltage connectors and insulators
- Inspect grounding paths and fusing safety
- Document electrical system condition and recommended improvements
2. Hydraulic System Assessment
- Analyze fluid condition for contamination and wear
- Check hoses and cylinders for fatigue and cracks
- Perform flow/pressure test and compare with OEM baseline
- Inspect tilt/lift performance under max load
- Schedule maintenance if overhaul metrics are exceeded
3. Structural & Mast Certification
- Measure fork heel thickness and perform magnetic particle test
- Test chain elongation and mast roller condition
- Inspect overhead guard welds and frame integrity
- Validate manufacturer ID plate and load chart readability
- Perform lift test with 100% rated capacity
4. Safety & Compliance Checks
- Verify compliance with OSHA 1910.178(q)(7) and ISO 3691-1:2011
- Inspect backup alarms, fire extinguisher mount, and operator restraints
- Confirm emergency brake engagement and e-stop function
- Ensure all safety labels and lighting are functional
- Update inspection documentation and logbooks
5. Strategic Lifecycle & Fleet Planning
- Review cumulative maintenance and repair history
- Analyze annual energy consumption and battery cycles
- Evaluate if unit meets ROI benchmarks for continuation
- Schedule refurbishment or retirement if cost threshold exceeded
- Log inspection data into Oxmaint and schedule next year's assessment
