EP Equipment EP14-10A – Monthly Inspection Procedure
Follow this monthly guide to maintain operational efficiency, component integrity, and OSHA readiness.
1. Battery & Charging System
- Check individual battery cell voltage and record readings
- Clean terminal corrosion and apply anti-oxidation spray
- Top up electrolyte using distilled water if below recommended level
- Verify charger output and charging cycle logs
- Inspect connectors and battery tray locking mechanism
2. Electrical Motor System Review
- Test motor power-on delay, startup surge, and current draw
- Inspect for vibration or noise under load
- Ensure thermal protection systems are active and calibrated
- Clean motor housing and check for dust accumulation
- Review historical performance trends using onboard logs
3. Mechanical and Mast Check
- Inspect fork integrity, mast tracks, and roller bearings
- Lubricate key mast components and side-shift rails
- Operate lift under moderate load to identify misalignment
- Check for backlash in tilt cylinders
- Ensure mounting bolts are torqued per specs
4. Hydraulic Fluid and Line Review
- Analyze fluid condition for cloudiness or metallic particles
- Check hose fittings and couplings for slow leaks
- Perform cold and warm cycle pressure checks
- Verify relief valve functionality and pressure setpoint
- Replace hydraulic filter if nearing recommended interval
5. Safety Systems & Controls
- Test backup alarms, warning lamps, and horn clarity
- Inspect fire extinguisher presence and charge
- Check seatbelt function and locking mechanism
- Confirm proper operation of overhead guard, restraint, and mirrors
- Log any worn or unreadable safety labels
