Annual inspection checklist for electric forklifts including system analysis, compliance checks, and preventive maintenance review.
Comprehensive Visual Inspection
- Inspect forklift frame, forks, wheels, and mast for signs of damage, rust, or structural issues
- Verify overhead guard, seatbelt, and decals for OSHA compliance
- Inspect counterweight attachment and condition
- Clean and document operator's cabin and control layout
Electric System Analysis
- Perform detailed battery load testing and voltage reading under load
- Inspect and clean battery terminals, check charger output
- Evaluate electric motor amperage draw, thermal profile, and operational noise
- Review wiring, controller, and fuse panel integrity
Hydraulics & Brake Certification
- Inspect hydraulic hoses, cylinders, and fluid reservoir for leaks and degradation
- Check lift, tilt, and side-shift function under max rated load
- Test service and parking brakes, measure wear, and record effectiveness
- Flush and replace hydraulic fluid if recommended
Operational Testing
- Verify smooth forward/reverse travel and steering function
- Assess acceleration, deceleration, and directional responsiveness
- Test horn, lights, warning systems, and alarms
- Measure idle power draw and control panel performance
Fleet Documentation & Certification
- Complete digital checklist report and submit through Oxmaint
- Attach defect photos and performance graphs as needed
- Log maintenance findings and planned part replacements
- Download inspection certificate for records and OSHA file compliance
