1. Pre-Operation Walkaround
- Walk around forklift inspecting body, forks, and tires for visible damage or leaks
- Ensure overhead guard, carriage, and data plate are intact and readable
- Check for loose parts, debris under unit, and overall cleanliness
- Verify seatbelt is present and functional
2. Fluid Level Verification
- Check diesel fuel level and inspect tank cap seal
- Check engine oil level using dipstick on flat surface
- Inspect hydraulic fluid level (forks fully lowered)
- Check coolant level and radiator cap security
- Verify brake fluid and transmission fluid (if separate)
3. Safety and Control Check
- Test horn, lights, and backup alarm functionality
- Ensure fire extinguisher is mounted and charged
- Inspect mirrors, warning labels, and overhead guards
- Check parking and service brakes operation
- Verify proper function of tilt, lift, and side-shift
4. Forks and Mast Assembly
- Ensure forks are not bent or cracked
- Inspect fork heels for excessive wear
- Verify mast chains are lubricated and tensioned
- Check hydraulic cylinders for leaks and secure fittings
- Ensure backrest and carriage are tight
5. Tire and Wheel Assessment
- Check for tire wear, cracks, or uneven inflation (if pneumatic)
- Inspect rims for bends, warping, or missing lug nuts
- Verify wheel nuts are secure
6. Post-Inspection and Documentation
- Complete digital or paper inspection log
- Report any failed item or fault to supervisor immediately
- Tag out unit if unsafe
- Submit inspection results via Oxmaint APP
