Pre-Inspection Setup
- Park forklift on level surface and engage parking brake
- Lower forks fully and turn off ignition
- Use wheel chocks and follow lockout/tagout if necessary
- Gather required PPE and maintenance log
Battery & Electrical Systems
- Inspect battery terminals and secure restraints
- Check electrolyte levels; add distilled water if needed
- Record battery voltage and confirm adequate charge
- Test dashboard indicators and light systems
Tyres, Wheels & Undercarriage
- Inspect tyres for cuts, bulges, or uneven wear
- Check wheel nuts and lug torque condition
- Grease wheel bearings if scheduled
- Clean debris from undercarriage
Hydraulic & Mast System
- Check hydraulic fluid levels and look for leaks
- Test lift, tilt, and side-shift motions
- Lubricate mast rails and inspect chains
- Check forks for cracks or heel wear beyond limits
Brake & Safety Systems
- Test foot and parking brakes
- Verify horn, lights, and reverse alarm function
- Ensure seatbelt locks and retracts correctly
- Inspect mirrors and fire extinguisher condition
Performance Check
- Drive forward/reverse in open space
- Check steering responsiveness
- Observe for unusual noise or vibrations
- Log issues and notify supervisor
