Toyota 8FD30 Diesel Forklift – Monthly Maintenance Checklist
Use this checklist to complete monthly maintenance for Toyota 8FD30 diesel forklifts. Ensure safety, performance, and compliance.
Tyres and Wheels
- Check tyre pressure (solid/pneumatic) for appropriateness and evenness.
- Inspect tyre surface for cracks, splits, or embedded debris.
- Verify adequate tread depth (visual check or gauge measurement).
- Inspect rims for damage, warping, or weld cracks.
- Inspect wheel bearings for wear and ensure proper lubrication.
- Check wheel nuts torque and re-torque to specifications.
Fluid Checks
- Verify engine oil level and condition (consider oil analysis).
- Inspect hydraulic fluid level and clarity.
- Check transmission fluid level and condition (if separate).
- Check brake fluid level and ensure no signs of contamination.
- Check radiator coolant level and ensure there are no leaks.
- Confirm diesel fuel level and ensure fuel cap is tight.
- Look for any visible fluid leaks under the forklift.
- Check for condensation in fuel system or water separator (drain if needed).
Forks & Mast Assembly
- Inspect forks for straightness and secure mounting.
- Verify fork heel wear is within acceptable limits (below 10% of original).
- Inspect locking pins and retaining clips for wear and security.
- Check mast chains for lubrication and even tension.
- Inspect lift cylinder pins and bushings for security and wear.
- Inspect backrest and carriage assembly for cracks and security.
- Lubricate all mast assembly parts including guide rollers and tilt mechanism.
Brakes & Safety Systems
- Test service and parking brakes for effectiveness and functionality.
- Check brake pads for wear and ensure required thickness.
- Inspect emergency stop/kill switch functionality.
- Inspect fire extinguisher for full charge and expiry date.
- Ensure overhead guard and operator compartment are secure.
- Verify load capacity plate is readable and accurate.
- Test horn, backup alarm, and lights for functionality.
- Inspect seat belt for wear and ensure proper operation.
Hydraulics and Operational Functions
- Check hydraulic hoses for signs of leaks, damage, or chafing.
- Inspect hydraulic fluid lines for proper attachment and routing.
- Verify smooth operation of lift, tilt, and side-shift functions.
- Ensure engine starts without abnormal noise or smoke.
- Verify engine operates at correct temperature.
- Check condition and operation of steering mechanism.
Engine and Exhaust System
- Inspect exhaust system for leaks, damage, or unusual noise.
- Check engine air filter and replace if needed.
- Inspect cooling system components (radiator, hoses) for leaks or damage.
- Clean or replace air intake system filters if necessary.
- Inspect engine for excessive wear, leaks, or unusual vibrations.
- Check fuel filter and replace according to schedule.
Battery and Electrical Systems
- Inspect battery terminals for corrosion and ensure they are tight.
- Check battery charge levels and recharge as necessary.
