Toyota 8FD40 Diesel Forklift – Monthly Maintenance Checklist
Use this checklist for monthly inspections to maintain safety, reliability, and compliance of your Toyota 8FD40 diesel forklift.
Engine and Fluid Checks
- Change engine oil and oil filter.
- Inspect and top off hydraulic, brake, and coolant fluids.
- Drain fuel water separator and replace fuel filters.
- Check for fluid leaks underneath the machine.
Tyres, Wheels, and Brakes
- Inspect tyre condition and pressure.
- Check wheel nuts and rims for cracks or looseness.
- Check brake pad thickness and test brake response.
Forks and Mast
- Inspect forks for bends or wear exceeding 10% of thickness.
- Lubricate mast chains and check tension.
- Inspect lift cylinder pins, bushings, and carriage structure.
Operational & Safety Systems
- Test horn, lights, alarm, and emergency stop.
- Inspect and test fire extinguisher, seat belt, and overhead guard.
- Confirm load plate is readable and accurate.
Electrical & Battery
- Inspect battery terminals for corrosion.
- Check electrolyte levels and recharge battery if needed.
- Test alternator and inspect wiring.
