2. Diesel Engine & Fuel Check
- Inspect engine compartment for leaks, dirt, or loose components
- Check oil level, fuel level, and coolant levels; top up if required
- Start engine and monitor startup sound, smoke, and vibration
- Observe exhaust emissions and idle performance
- Check fuel system integrity and secure cap seal
3. Hydraulic & Lifting Systems
- Verify hydraulic fluid level and clarity
- Inspect hoses and cylinders for wear or leaks
- Test lift/tilt functions and mast alignment
- Check fork condition, heel wear, and locking pins
- Lubricate mast chains and assess tension
4. Safety System Inspection
- Test horn, lights, reverse alarm, and warning indicators
- Inspect seatbelt condition and locking function
- Ensure fire extinguisher is mounted and charged
- Confirm overhead guard and backrest are secure
- Check brakes, steering response, and emergency stop
5. Wheel & Tyre System
- Check tyre condition: pressure, cracks, and tread
- Inspect wheels and rims for visible damage
- Ensure lug nuts are present and tight
- Check wheel bearings and rotate if needed
6. Final Compliance and Documentation
- Complete the daily checklist with notes on any findings
- Report urgent faults to the supervisor
- Submit signed checklist form digitally or in paper form
- Verify OSHA 1910.178(q)(7) compliance
