Visual & Safety Certification
- Inspect forklift exterior, mast assembly, wheels, and forks for signs of wear or damage
- Verify safety decals, capacity plate, and overhead guard are intact and legible
- Check seatbelt, lights, horn, and alarms for proper function
- Inspect fire extinguisher, emergency systems, and operator guard rails
- Document inspection hours, serial number, and technician signature
Engine & Fluid Diagnostics
- Perform diesel engine diagnostics including noise, emissions, and compression checks
- Analyze engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, transmission, and brake fluids
- Check for fluid leaks under the forklift and log any abnormal consumption
- Replace filters as necessary (oil, air, fuel) and top-off to spec
- Inspect cooling system integrity, radiator condition, and coolant hoses
Hydraulic, Brake & Steering Evaluation
- Test mast hydraulics, tilt, lift, and side-shift operations under load
- Inspect all hydraulic lines, cylinders, and connections for wear or leaks
- Evaluate brake system including pad thickness and parking brake performance
- Ensure power steering response is smooth and components show no abnormal wear
- Lubricate mast chains, carriage rollers, and key mechanical joints
Battery & Electrical System Testing
- Inspect battery terminals for corrosion, tighten connections, and check electrolyte levels
- Test alternator output, battery voltage, and charger performance
- Inspect all wiring, fuses, lights, switches, and dashboard indicators
- Ensure all electrical covers and enclosures are secure and clean
- Replace worn-out lamps or non-functioning indicators as needed
Final Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure OSHA 1910.178(q) and ISO 6055 documentation is fulfilled
- Record all findings in monthly logbook or Oxmaint app
- Note any follow-up repairs or part orders based on findings
- Capture technician name, date, and digital signature if applicable
- Submit documentation to fleet manager for compliance tracking
