- Note accumulation of waste or unused equipment
- Record any signs of unsafe obstruction or blockage
Cleaning Tools and Material Storage
- Verify brooms, mops, and carts are stored securely and off walkways
- Ensure chemicals are labeled and stored in appropriate areas
- Check supply closet ventilation and lock access if required
- Ensure emergency spill kits are available and accessible
Trash and Waste Disposal
- Empty bins and confirm waste is segregated and sealed
- Check biohazard or chemical waste disposal (if applicable)
- Disinfect bin interiors and lids weekly
- Confirm outdoor dumpsters are latched and pest-free
Clutter and Equipment Management
- Ensure aisles and emergency paths are unobstructed
- Inspect for tangled cords or improperly stored tools
- Check that storage shelves are stable and organized
- Label unmarked boxes and remove unnecessary materials
Final Review & Reporting
- Log findings in housekeeping checklist and submit to supervisor
- Flag maintenance concerns or hazards requiring follow-up
- Capture before/after photos if part of SOP
- Confirm date/time of next scheduled housekeeping inspection
